About Photographer

I am from Millstreet, Co.Cork, where my parents Con and Nora still live. I have 2 brothers (Denis and Gerard) and 2 sisters (Teresa and Kathryn). I also have 2 nephews (Daniel and Peter) and one niece Aoife.

I studied in Maynooth and was ordained a Priest for the Cork and Ross Diocese in 1995. I have served in Ballinlough Parish Cork (1995-2001), Ballyvolane/Dublin Hill Cork (2001-2008) and Chaplain in Coláiste Choilm Secondary School, Ballincollig, Co.Cork (2008-2015). Since September 2015, I am working as Chaplin in Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí (Bantry Community College). The school is in the heart of West Cork with beautiful scenery all around. Both staff and students are great and there is a lovely energy to the school that is both welcoming and friendly. Working with young people and journeying with them along their own faith journey is a great privilege and gives me great hope for today and the future.

I am a keen cyclist and enjoy keeping fit through walking and getting outdoors as much as possible. This is where my interest in photography started and I have been taking pictures since I was in school myself. My interest in photography has opened so many doors for me. I am lucky to have had the chance to hold photo exhibitions each year and my work has led to the publication of two books to date: "A Year To Remember" and "A Year In Reflection". Both books have done fantastic and have allowed me to share the best of the photographs and thoughts from this website.

Since 2004 this website or has been online. It's daily numbers have grown over the years and today thousands of people check the website from just about every country in the world! Since 2008 an archive has been added to the website and this has been very beneficial in allowing people access to pictures and thoughts uploaded recently or going back a while. The 'Thought For The Week' on the website is also printed in Cork's Evening Echo newspaper each saturday which gives it even a wider audience.

The website is liked because of it's simplicity and as a result will not change significantly. Why change something when you have a winning formula! But each year some small changes are added and the latest is a link to a Facebook Page for Today Is My Gift To You.

Thank you for taking the time to read this
