Photo was taken outside the grounds at Anfield, in Liverpool (Eng)

April 15 1989 will always be etched in the memory of Liverpool FC when 96 football supporters were crushed in a horrific sporting disaster. They were crushed at Hillsborough stadium in Sheffield during the FA cup semi final between Nottingham Forest and Liverpool when too many fans were left in to see the game. Our photo today picks up on a memorial outside the grounds of Liverpool with the name of every person who died and an eternal flame that burns in their memory.

‘You’ll learn more about a road by travelling it than by consulting all the maps in the world.’ ~Author Unknown

Maps have been around for hundreds of years since the first explorers started discovering different parts of our world. Today maps have been replaced more by satellite navigation systems. We’re told they’re more reliable and accurate in getting us to our destination. But modern technology and different maps can never tell us the feel of a road and its character. The only way to find out is by travelling along it. The same goes in life. All our journeys are uniquely different. All roads in life have their many twists and turns. Some uphill, some down, but all going in the one direction. God is our map and compass, guiding us through all of life’s journeys.
