This flower is a tower of little treasures. This collection of many white flowers looks quite similar to the horse chestnut flower but it’s actually the laurel. It’s flowers particularly stand out at this time of year.

‘There are too many people praying for mountains of difficulty to be removed, when what they really need is courage to climb them.’ ~Author Unknown

We often pray on the spot hoping that a miracle can and will happen. When the spotlight and heat is on, it’s the most natural thing for any of us to do. Perhaps if we come at it from a different angle and instead begin to pray for the courage to climb over or through what’s difficult. This is a completely different prayer and one that is open and honest. It recognises the need to face the difficulty or challenge head on but it also recognises that it is possible to come through. Our prayer to God today is a prayer asking for courage, not just with mountains of difficulty but courage to face every challenge that we meet in life. For most of us, these challenges hit us often and with the right approach we can be ready for most of them.
