You never know what might happen if you tie some balloons to your home! Anyone who has seen the film ‘Up’ will appreciate the power of the imagination and what you can do with balloons!

The light hearted photo today is a lead in to a true story in our thought for today below.

‘We hold in our hands, the most precious gift of all: Freedom. It is the freedom to express our art and our love. It is the freedom to be who we want to be. We are not going to give that freedom away and no one shall take it from us.’ ~Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider

Just when the royal wedding was over there was a lovely twist to the story over the weekend. Nora Hickey was driving near Killarney, Co. Kerry at 11.15a.m on Saturday when she spotted a big bunch of 16 red, white and blue balloons at the side of the road. On closer investigation she found 23 handwritten messages hanging from them. All the messages were good wishes from the royal wedding. A mobile number on one of the messages was contacted to reveal that the balloons were released from the Gate House pub in Highgate, London at midnight on Friday. In an easterly breeze they travelled across England, over the Irish Sea and across southern Ireland to their destination at Beheenagh, near Killarney a distance of 782km. These balloons were free to go where they wanted. Their destination was totally unpredictable and in ways incredible that they travelled that distance in eleven hours. We are spiritually free too. There are no limits, no expectations, no restrictions and nothing to hold us back. We are invited to be the person God created us to be. Like a breeze God will always take us to the place we want to be. It is only we who place the limits.
