The only exercise some people get is jumping to conclusions, running down their friends, side-stepping responsibility, and pushing their luck! ~Author Unknown

Albert Amateau, at 105 years said, “I lived my life in such a way that I knew I would live beyond 100!” Being a keen walker has always been a part of his life. He was once examined by a doctor 50 years younger than him. This doctor was amazed to hear that Albert walked 5 kilometers every day. “What do you do when it rains?” asked the doctor. “I put on a raincoat,” replied the old man. We’re experts at making excuses when it comes to exercise and we’re also best friends with tomorrow and next week. Our bodies are a gift from God to look after and mind. Exercise ensures we maximise this gift. Exercise reduces the risk of illness and cancer. It reduces or maintains body weight. It builds and maintains healthy muscles, bones and joints. It reduces depression and anxiety, improves our sense of wellbeing and enhances our day to day activities. We don’t have to have a gym membership or be part of any exclusive club. It can be as simple as going for a walk for 10-15 minutes or longer. During this month of May, nature is bursting with so much life, waiting to be seen and appreciated. One of the best ways to see it is to go for a walk. Why not do it today or across the weekend and do it again a few times next week. The benefits are so many that no money could buy them.
