‘In quiet prayer, talk to God if you can. If you can’t, just stay there, let God look at you and don’t worry about anything.’ ~St Francis de Sales

Any prayer is a willingness to take some time out and turn our thoughts to God. There has been much written about techniques, posture, types of prayer, where to pray and when. Even with the best intention prayer can sometimes be a step beyond us. There are times when we just don’t know how to get started or what to say. It is comforting to know that all we need to do is just stay in that moment of not having it all worked out or what to say. God knows our good intention, what we want to say and our willingness to take some time out. We may think that such a prayer is a waste of time and could have been better spent doing something else. However such prayer is honest, worthwhile and always worth the effort.
