Photo was taken yesterday at Millstreet, Co.Cork (Irl)

The weather turned out nice and sunny yesterday for St Patrick’s Day. So many parades were held right across the country including Millstreet. VIP’s Barack Obama and Queen Elizabeth made their presence felt on a float put together by LTV2!

In Ireland and Europe the 4th Sunday of Lent is Mother’s Day….. so Happy Mother’s Day to all our mums!

The truth can hurt. But a dose of truth is sometimes exactly what we need. When we know the truth, we can make informed decisions, be they for good or bad. Jesus speaks about truth in today’s Gospel. Those who choose to live by the truth are able to live their lives out in the open. And he has harsh words for those who turn away from the truth, who choose darkness over light. These people, he says, live in fear of their actions being exposed. And what is this truth? Jesus tells us: that God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, and that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. Good news indeed!
We hear a lot of talk these days about transparency. We have seen the damage caused by those whose private actions gravely contradict the message they proclaim in the public sphere.
What about our own lives? Do we live truthful lives? Do we choose what we know is right? Or are there things we think and do in secret that we would rather no one knew about, that we would prefer not be brought out into the light?
