This photo was doing the rounds online across the weekend.

Venice like many countries has experienced recent flooding. This photo though tells its own story. The street may be flooded but there was still time to sit down and eat!!

‘If you can find a path with no obstacles it probably doesn’t lead anywhere.’ ~Frank Clark

We all experience obstacles on our daily journey, some are small and more of them are much more significant. Many of the obstacles out there are outside our control. But it also seems we like adding to what’s already there. We lay obstacles when we carelessly criticize, when we give out about nothing, when we target our anger on others, when we fail to encourage and when we put someone’s confidence down.

Jesus says: ‘Come to me who labour and are overburdened and I will give you rest’. This beautiful line of scripture gives us hope for tomorrow but especially for today. Maths may be difficult at times but the following equation is simple: Do I add to what’s already overloaded? or can I subtract and take away what’s unnecessary and burdensome?
