Some recent frost wrapped itself right around this row of thorny wire. Such moments are quickly gone with the first rays of sunlight.

‘Never judge a summer resort by its postcards.’ ~Author Unknown

It is so easy to be deceived by such postcards. Perfect sunsets, perfect waves, perfect blue skies and perfect sand make sure we get carried away. Travel brochures simply whet our appetite. We go there expecting exactly as it says in the book. It doesn’t always quite work out that way and there is always some disappointment. The best places are often the ones that are recommended by family and friends. It goes for many things in life. Our expectations can often be built up through glossy advertising. There are subtle pressures to keep up pace with a perfect world. Such a world doesn’t exist or never will. It’s a pace that can wear out even the strongest. It is up to us to dictate our own pace through life, not what others think it should be at.
