I never thought I would be showing a picture like this at the end of March and about to start April! But the weather is so cold at the moment and these icicles tell their own story!
Today Holy Saturday is a day of waiting and the Thought For Today below goes into this a bit more.

Thought on Saturday – May – 30/03/2013

‘There is a story told of a preacher who preached over and over, “Put God into your life, put God into your life.” But the holy Rabbi of the village said, “Our task is not to put God into our lives because God is already there.” Our task is simply to realize that.’ ~Joan Chittister

Today Holy Saturday is a day of waiting. We wait on lots of things. We patiently wait at the moment for warm and spring like weather to get a firm hold, in the midst of very unseasonal cold weather. We wait for better economic times and more jobs for everyone. We wait for a special family day coming up, be it a christening, a wedding, confirmation, first communion, a significant birthday or some other family celebration. Waiting requires patience. A flower in bud can never be forced open to become a flower. It has to wait until the moment is right.

Today we wait in stillness and quiet expectation that Jesus will rise from the dead. We all sit comfortably with Good Friday because we know what it’s like to be holding or carrying a cross. We also need to wait in our difficult and dark days and to know that our Easter moments will arrive too. We need hope and a reason why. We need light in our darkness and lots of signposts to guide us along in life. We need encouragement and support. That’s why Easter is so important. God is all of these and so much more. We don’t have to put God into our lives this Easter because God is already there and who is with us in everything. It is time to celebrate.

Wishing you a Happy Easter!
