She seems to have been drawn from an early age to contemplation of Our Lord’s passion. She began to experience visions of Christ in his passion and as these intensified marks of his passion began to appear on and in her body. She died on this day July 9th 1727. She had kept an account of her mystical experiences and by the time of her death this ran to 22,000 thousand pages!! Such an extensive volume gave many insights into her life. Some may call her life exceptionally strange but she never claimed to have received extraordinary revelations but simply an increasing sense of the love of God in her life.
