I particularly like the Thought For Today which is most appropriate for June 1st

This guinea fowl made its presence felt with a distinct morning call on Cape Clear island.

Thought on Saturday – June – 01/06/2019

‘Spring being a tough act to follow, God created June.’ ~Al Bernstein

It is hard to believe that today is the first day of June. Did you know that no other month in the year begins on the same day as 1st June? It is a much anticipated month, with schools getting holidays, nature bubbling with life and colour, Father’s day is celebrated and the feast of St.John is celebrated on June 24th. June is a time of year when everything peaks with maximum daylight hours. The pearl is the birthstone for the month of June. It is a symbol of purity and because they are so rare they are considered gems. Spiritually they are a reminder that we are all pearls in God’s eyes, precious and uniquely special. As we begin our journey through June today we ask God’s many blessings on each of us. We pray that this month will be fruitful, healthy and life giving for us. We include anyone who has asked us to pray for them, particularly those starting the Junior and Leaving Cert exams. May every day of the coming 30 of this month be a day when you feel God close and near to you.
