Today is an Easter Tuesday and for many people it is back to work today. In Ireland our schools are still on Easter holidays until next Monday.

As the blackbird and other birds build their nests and sit on eggs, it coincides with the beautiful energy of spring and easter. Easter is all about hope, new beginnings, new life and taking small steps forward in hope.
It is about believing in ourselves, believing in love and kindness and being open to God’s blessings in our lives.
Many return to work today but the journey of Easter is for 6 weeks. The reason for this is to give us every chance to celebrate all good news but especially yours

(All the normal bits and pieces will return here tomorrow Wednesday – Significance of Today, Birthdays for Today, Quote relevant for Today, Did you know fact, Saint for today etc)

My video for Easter this week is called ‘Easter in my Garden’. While transplanting a young horse chestnut tree it got me reflecting on the meaning of Easter.

Thought for Easter Tuesday

Let the resurrection joy lift us from loneliness and weakness and despair to strength and beauty and happiness.” ~Floyd Tomkins

The story of Good Friday is very much our story. It picks up on our sadness, our pain, our challenges, our difficulties and the crosses we all have to carry in life from time to time. But some people choose to stay in Good Friday. They forget to take the step out of the tomb into the light or just don’t have the confidence to do so. A small nervous step forward towards new beginnings is infinitely better than none at all.

As Christians and believers we believe that our story does not end on Good Friday. There has to be something more. Easter is all about hope, new beginnings, new life and taking small steps forward in hope. It is about believing in ourselves, believing in love and kindness and being open to God’s blessings in our lives. I would like to wish you a Happy Easter and every blessing on you and your family.
