I took this photo yesterday on a home visitation. ‘Jimmy’ after giving me a mighty welcome decided prayer time was too much for him and went for a lovely nap!! The benefits of a pet with an older person are so many especially companionship and looking out for each other

Mindful Quote:

“Wherever you are, be there totally,” ~Eckhart Tolle.

Sometimes our mind races and we are everywhere except where we need to be! To be fully present in the moment that is now is easier said than done. There is not much to gain by letting the past or the future cloud over the beauty of now.

Prayer Moment🙏: Loving God, give me strength to focus on the now moment. Sometimes I’m thinking of the past only and sometimes I’m worrying about the future that has not yet happened. Help me to know that this present moment is the one that really matters. Amen

Spiritual Thought For The Week🙏

Both the Winter and the Summer Solstices are expressions of love. They show us the opposition of light and dark, expansion and contraction, that characterize our experiences, so that we can recognize our options as we move through our lives. ~Author Unknown

Last Saturday (June 21st) we marked the longest day of the year. The biggest tilt towards the sun is at this time of year and it is possible to get 17 hours of sunshine in many parts of Ireland. With the beautiful weather we have had all week, there have been some eye catching sunsets at 10pm each evening.

From a spiritual point of view we are always invited to tilt towards God and everything that is good and life giving. We are equally invited to tilt away from negativity, bitterness and darkness. Nature has worked out the balance over millions of years.

The invitation on the longest days of the year is to tilt even a little, to something good, positive and worthwhile in our lives. We remember the words of Jesus: “Come to me all who are weary and overburdened and I will give you rest.”
