I took this photo last evening at Robert’s Cove, near Minane Bridge, South Cork on the Twomey farm. It is the beginning of the harvest season and every dry and sunny day the harvest will continue.

Mindful Quote:

“It takes courage to say yes to rest and play, in a culture where exhaustion is seen as a symbol status.” – Brene Brown

It seems strange that to be exhausted or to be flat out busy seems to be an acceptable new norm. Our bodies have amazing abilities but we have definite limitations. Exhaustion is an outward sign of our bodies screaming to slow down.

Prayer Moment🙏: Loving God, I sometimes am so busy I don’t know even when to slow down or even how to slow down. May I find time today to just rest and to recharge. Even if I can make a small start it will be a good start.

I was privileged last Sunday to celebrate Mass at the RTE studios in Dublin. If you would like to watch the Mass or during the week, here is the link…https://www.rte.ie/player/series/mass/SI0000003570?epguid=IH10008882-25-0019

Well done to the One Voice Choir for the beautiful singing🙏

Spiritual Thought For The Week🙏

Last Friday and the weekend we celebrated the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The heart has always been associated with love, closeness, friendship and the centre of life. It should come as no surprise to anyone that the image of heart would also be used with Jesus. We so often talk about the love Jesus has for each of us. Jesus is not on the fringes but is to be found in the centre of life.

There has also been much written about prayer with endless books available. Prayer can often be hard to do, hard to understand and hard to make time for. But one of the most beautiful prayers that we have comes from today’s feast: “O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.”. It is so simple, so uncomplicated, so full of trust and hope, so full of love and one of the most personal prayers we have. It is also ours not just today but everyday.

When we struggle with our faith and spirituality, we don’t have to worry. We don’t need to try big, long prayers that can sometimes mean little. Just say the Sacred Heart prayer and you will find a peace and calm that goes beyond words: “O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.”
