I attended the recent Lisavaird Co-Op Centenary Celebrations in West Cork. There was a fabulous display of photographs going right back down memory lane. One of the photos that caught my eye were the two nuns taking milk to the creamery in Glandore, with their donkey and cart. It is such a rare moment that will never be repeated again. Well done to everyone at Lisavaird for bringing the trip down memory lane so alive with such beautiful rare photos on display
Mindful Quote😇: “I am convinced that prayers make a difference. It’s my personal belief that praying and thinking of someone with positivity and sending light and love to someone does make a difference.” ~Gena Heraty (Speaking on RTE News yesterday about her recent release from captivity in Haiti)
Mindful Prayer🙏: Loving God, help me to believe that every prayer makes a difference even when it seems to me that it’s an empty void. Today I think of someone special in my life with light and love. Amen

Spiritual Thought For The Week🙏
Last Sunday a young man named Carlo Acutis was canonised a Saint by Pope Leo in Saint Peter’s square in Rome. It is a historic occasion for several reasons. Carlo Acutis is the first Millennial Saint and will be the first saint to be canonised by our new pope. He was born on May 3rd 1991 and died from leukaemia on Oct 12th 2006. At least two miracles have been attributed to his intercession and this number looks set to grow. The life of Carlo may have been a short 15 years but in that time he did so much. His appeal crosses all age groups, but with particular appeal for young people.
From a young age, Carlo had a special love of God even though his parents were not initially particularly religious. He was gifted at working with computers. He taught himself some of the basic coding languages including C and C++. Carlo used his computer skills to create a website that promoted his love of the Eucharist. He loved playing video games using PlayStation and Xbox. He is the first modern saint to have had an email address!
What does Carlo Acutis becoming a saint mean for us? The fact that he is a young person and only died in 2006 makes him a very modern saint. His life shows that it is possible to live a healthy spiritual life while also engaging with modern technology in a positive way. He found this beautiful balance which is so rare today. Carlo had a great love of Jesus whose presence he really felt in the Eucharist. He felt his call was to share this great love of Jesus by using modern technology. We ask his many beautiful blessings on all of us and especially on all young people.
