During this month of November so many call to the grave of a loved one. It is a lovely tradition that goes beyond words. There was lovely fading light at Saint Mary’s cemetery in Millstreet yesterday afternoon at 5.15pm

Mindful Quotation😇:  “We never think what we’ll miss about them before a person is gone. It is only after, in the hollow of their absence, that we realize it is the simple things we crave, like the sound of a voice, the warmth of a touch, a smile of happiness and most of all simply their presence.” ~ Jenny Knipfer,

Mindful Prayer🙏: Loving God, during these early days of November, as we remember our loved ones who have died, give me strength and courage to get through the times when I miss them the most. Amen

Thought For The Week

We celebrated All Saints day last Saturday November 1st. All Saints Day is one of our most beautiful feast days that we have, packed with meaning and symbolism. It is the most natural thing in the world to wrap today’s feast day in with the celebration of Halloween. If Halloween is all about darkness, the unknown and scary stuff, then All Saints Day is simply the other side of the coin, celebrating light, hope and new beginnings.

In life balance, Halloween is the yin and All Saints Day is the yang. Both are connected and joined together in beautiful balance.  In ancient times today November 1st marked the beginning of the New Year with the festival of Samhain, which marked the end of the Celtic year and the beginning of the new one.

All Saint’s Day looks at all those who have gone on before us, not just the famous saints, but people who were special and important in our own lives. All Saint’s Day reminds us that these people also lived lives of light and hope. These people lived quiet and ordinary lives but who today are our inspiration. We simply call them Saints. Their faith and their love still surround us. This will never go away. They are our inspiration today reminding us of what’s possible in our own lives.

It is a beautiful feast day. All Saints Day reminds us that we are all part of one great spiritual family united in God’s love. God’s love is the most beautiful blessing we have. We share it every single day in whatever way we can.
