Mother’s Day in Ireland and the UK always falls on the fourth Sunday of Lent. To all our Mums we wish you a very Happy Mother’s Day.As we celebrate our Mums today the following is a prayer to mark this special day.

As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we give thanks for our own mother. We thank you for being the wonderful you. Thank you for all the love you have given. Thank you for your patience, your understanding and your dedication. Thank you for your advice, your wisdom and for being uniquely you.

Thank you for making many sacrifices, thank you for your total dedication and for doing so many things for me. You know me better than most. You have been with me through everything. There will never be enough words to say thank you. You are special every day but on Mother’s Day you are even more special.

I pray to you today asking our Loving God to bless you, to keep you in good health and to give you strength, courage, compassion and peace. May you continue to be a woman of love and of hope. May you be blessed today and every day. And if your Mum is deceased we also remember her with love on this Mother’s Day. Amen

Spiritual Thought For The Week

One of the shortest prayers we have and probably the most beautiful is : “O Sacred Heart of Jesus I place all my trust in you.”It can be said anytime and anywhere. It can also be said in those moments when we really need hope. I also feel it’s a calming prayer too: “O Sacred Heart of Jesus I place all my trust in you.” It can be our prayer too this Lent.

I hope your continue journey through Lent is a good one. I hope it goes well for you. And I share this lovely one line prayer with you again. It’s like a master key, that will help you unlock many doors: ‘O Sacred Heart of Jesus I place all my trust in you.’
