‘The word friend is so much deeper and richer than the word acquaintance or even love. Acquaintances are little more than ships passing in the night. We have many acquaintances but few friends. Friendship is a matter of the heart where our innermost thoughts, fears, anxieties and joys dwell.’ ~Martin Tierney

There has been much said about friends and friendship. We so often take good friends for granted. Friendship is a place where we can just be ourselves. To be a friend is to learn and see the good and beautiful and to admire them for it. To be a friend is to also acknowledge that we all have our weak points and faults. A good friend knows when to say sorry, forgive, forget and move on.

To be a friend is to rally round when the going gets tough knowing that just your presence is worth more than many words. Your friend is a precious gift from God to you. Yes we do take them for granted on occasions. But to be a real friend is to love them from beginning to end knowing that the constant link is the wonderful gift of your friendship.
