Irish jockey Rachael Blackmore had so many smiling yesterday with her fabulous win on the horse ‘Honeysuckle’. As Rachael’s mum put it so well, in a world where there is a lot of pain and suffering with the war in Ukraine, it was nice to have something to smile about yesterday.

On This Day

On March 16 2019 a beached dead whale was found to have 88 lbs of plastic inside it, including 40 lbs of plastic bags, in Mabini, Philippines. It is sadly another sign of the amount of pollution, particularly plastic and the damage it is doing to our natural world.

Interesting Quote for Today

“What nature delivers to us is never stale. Because what nature creates has eternity in it.” ~Isaac Bashevis

Saint For Today: Jose Gabriel del Rosario Brochero (1840 – 1914) was a Catholic priest who suffered leprosy throughout his life. He is known for his extensive work with the poor and the sick.

Significance of Today It’s the eve of Saint Patrick’s Day and to look forward to a weekend of celbrations. Friday will also be a day of remembrance in Ireland for all those who died of Covid

Thought on Wednesday – March – 16/03/2022

As we head towards St Patrick’s Day the following St. Patrick’s Prayer is most appropraite

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,

Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,

Christ on my right, Christ on my left,

Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down,

Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,

Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,

Christ in the eye that sees me,

Christ in the ear that hears me.

We pray for God’s strength to help us,

God’s wisdom to guide us,

God’s eye to be our vision,

God’s ear for our hearing,

God’s word for our speech,

God’s hand to protect us,

God’s pathway before us,

God’s shield for our shelter,

Amen
