During these days after Christmas many outdoor activities are taking place. There is only so much sitting inside one can do during Christmas and any opportunity to get out and about for fresh air is always welcome during this days after Christmas.

‘Don’t be envious if the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. It’s also harder to cut.’ ~Author Unknown

It’s often we look at the other side of the fence. We look at people’s lifestyles, looks, fashion, and houses. Everything on the other side of the fence seems so attractive. It appears that other people have it so good. But the reality is that these people are looking over the fence too and wishing for what we have. What appears as the perfect lifestyle by someone else is often far from perfect. Our humble patch is where we will find all we need for fulfilment and progress. As we move closer towards a new year our humble patch may need clearing out. Once that’s done we can begin to look forward to new beginnings. God always encourages us to work with what we have and not with what others have. It’s a great formula for greener grass, on our side.

(P.S As we journey through Christmas its time to relax and take it easy. Our thoughts and pictures from here to Jan 2nd will be taken from my book ‘A Year In reflection’ which is a collection of the best of 365 thoughts and photographs from this website. From Jan 2nd everything will be back to new photos and thoughts. Thanks….James
