Photo was taken on the slopes of Mushera mountain, near Millstreet, Co.Cork (Irl)

This young lamb is determined to keep close to its mum on the upper slopes of Mushera mountain. The road can be see way below and life up in these hills can be tough for sheep when the weather is windy, wet and cold.

‘When we are loosing, we run faster’ ~Gerard May

No one likes to lose, not just in sport but in every aspect of life. When we are frightened or afraid we tend to panic and run faster. It is no coincidence that the pace of life is hectic today. Why is this so? Is there a sense that we are loosing something? Have we lost the heartbeat of life? The faster we run in life, the less chance there is of connecting with what’s essential and important in life. Mother Teresa put it so well when she said that few of us can do great things but all of us can do small things with great love. Can I make time for the small things in life? Can I do one small thing well today and be content with whatever this might be? Can I be reassured that it’s more than enough in God’s eyes? Doing these with love is indeed the heartbeat of life.
